The evidence behind it
In an audit of 194 consecutive musculoskeletal teleconsultations, sent by 60 clinicians from 28 rural facilities across 9 regions of Chile, specialist review avoided 108 referrals or transfers.
Specialist review also picked up fractures that had been missed at the referring site.

Who's behind it

I've worked as a doctor in Chile, Scotland and Australia. Before PontiNet I founded OrthoKeys, where we learned the real problem wasn't diagnosis, it was access to a specialist. Doctors didn't need a machine to tell them what to look at. They needed a colleague who answered in time.
